I am a researcher, writer, and technologist connecting the dots between social justice and technology

As a public interest technologist, my sweet spot lies at the intersection of social justice and technology-centric solutions. Whether I was supporting secure digital infrastructure in Washington D.C. or working as a field researcher in Ghana, I believe in harnessing the power of community-centred solutions to advocate for social change .

My technology projects have been awarded prizes from Making All Voices Count/Global Innovation Competition, AT&T Hackathon, and AngelHack Brooklyn. As a committed advocate for digital rights, I spoke on these topics at the Global Voices Summit, FOSS Backstage, MozFest, FIFAfrica and more. My research has been featured in the New York Times, TechCrunch, and PhillyCam among others.

Throughout my career, I have been deeply committed to addressing the impact of technology on society and building institutional capacity to mitigate technical inequities through strategic planning, impact analysis, and resource mobilization. Recognizing that technology cannot be dissociated from its social and political context, I am dedicated to advocating for unbiased and equitable technology.

I am passionate about using data as a creative tool to challenge existing narratives, and often speak animatedly about this topic (see image below):
